Hello all,
on the verge of buying a LR 3 TDV6 HSE ( 11/2005) from a dealer in the south of the Netherlands I face an issue which I like to share withyou and do value your opinion. The price of this car is good, however the dealer will not give ANY guarantee on the car. Despite what they say on their website, I cannot even buy some guarantee. 75 000 Km , car looks to be in good shape. So I wonder, what's the catch....? Advice? Thanks

Is it a Landrover dealer??
I believe under European law he is obligated to give you some warranty. On the other hand, if you run into a known Landrover problem an official Landrover dealer should help you out under warranty.
I bought a Disco 3 2005 build from Italy and received warranty on a known problem from a Dutch Landrover dealer this year.

My dealer currently has my brother's D3 on sale.
They say on their website: we are selling this car on behalf of a customer, therefore no warranty is given. I was quite surprised by this but it happens.
I'm not aware of any Dutch car dealer selling the extended warrantee that UK people seem to buy all the time, maybe other dutch members can comment on this. Not having come across this, I'm not surprised a dutch dealer doesn't offer this... but no warranty at all must be a special situation.
Frankly, I'd ask the dealer the exact reason why he's not selling it under warranty and draw your conclusions from that.
You're free to post the name of the dealer or a link to the car on his website (if any), I'll be happy to look at it for you and see what's commented on there. Also I'll google the dealer a bit; I'm just assuming you're not fluent in Dutch.
