The hardware itself is pretty robust, even Ricky who beats them up real bad hasn't managed to destroy more then one or two units. Software wise, there's always a way to recover http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/

I look after the hardware part and it even has its own padded pouch to live in.
No point trying to test stuff if the pins are bent.

Just so everyone is aware. I ordered the IID Bluetooth directly from GAP via their website. With expedited delivery via UPS it cost £400. Just been stung for an additional £88 in import duties and VAT which I have to pay UPS before I can receive the tool. in hindsight I should have ordered from UK supplier or jumped on Disco_Mikey's group buy, but thought I could give GAP business direct rather than via a third party.
Pat - Can you put something on the website to indicate that shipments to EU may incur import taxes/VAT.
Still can't wait to go and collect it and have a play though.

Saw Robbie's post after I had ordered so I was half expecting to have to pay UK rip off taxes. I'm not really complaining as still worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. Last time I asked main dealer they wanted £70+vat just to plug diagnostics in. Just asking Pat to make a mention of it on the website given that there may be a few UK customers.
In my experience its hit-or-miss on whether you have to pay duty or not and seems to depend on the carrier. I ordered some electronic test kit from the US valued at $10000. Never had to pay anything!! Was delivered via USPS/Royal Mail.

The global strategy is for our products to be as accessible as possible and this includes selling directly on our website and via our resellers. The price structure does reflect this since we want to make sure our resellers are happy with carrying and promoting the tools. We also want to eliminate situations where potential customers had a hard time finding a unit.
