Yes it is providing the Iid tool is not locked to the VIN on the old car until the map has been removed Sad The next question is are the BAS re-maps really worth the price(appears to be £420), do they really make that much improvement in performance?

Thanks Bodsy Thumbs Up must admit I have never heard of anyone being disappointed with a BAS re-map. How would you say it compares in performance with a D4?

I've driven a few D4's 8 speed and 6 speed. I would say that this compares very favourably and even feels slightly more spirited than the 6 speed 3L. That could be purely down to where the torque kicks in perhaps being slightly different?
The 8 speed SDV6 however, still has the edge IMHO because of the extra gear ratio's.

One of my considerations was about whether to change and with the remap, its just another reason why I don't need to pay the extra to get a D4.

Don't get me wrong, if I had the extra cash, then an 8 speed D4 would be very welcome, but this remap is a far far cheaper option!

Having lived with the remap a bit longer, I'm finding that I'm still driving normally with relatively low use of the throttle, but on the (many!) country roads around here, overtaking tractors and Sunday drivers I can now rely on the acceleration instead of having to think long and hard about whether I've got enough power to get around it safely.
I've still not really done enough steady miles to measure the MPG fully, but will do in the next weeks.

EDIT: Just to add, that my car is totally standard from a tuning perspective
Blanked EGR (EuIV engine Wink )
Std Intercooler
Std I/C Hose

Other things that may have a negative effect on my setup
Raised Air Intake
Winch

1/4 ton 'stuff' in the back most of the time.

This is a great step forward providing the remap file is priced competitively.
What is the situation when the time comes to sell/upgrade the vehicle?

Remaps will have aprox 45-50gbp discount applied when the web ship listings go live in comparision our drive in workshop remap prices. https://secure.bellautoservices.co.uk/stor...ap-tuning/

The IID tool will not be effected if the IID tool tuned car is sold with its remap still on, as mentioned the remap is vin/car specific and so can be left on the car when sold without worry.

Should the same IID need a new remap for the new car providing its a supported car and have been vin unlocked where needed for the new car then a new remap can be purcased and added to the very same IID without problem.

Pete

To add for clarity, The D4 3.0L is not currently supported for tuning with the IID.

The current supported cars are listed here and when we go live these pictures will be converted into purchasable items. http://bellautoservices.co.uk/gap-iid-tool-remaps/
