Gallery Improvements

It's a widely held view that the current gallery software is clunky, confusing, inflexible and plain irritating...

So, I would like to open up this thread for suggestions for features for a replacement gallery - what functionality would you like to see?

A few things to start you off, comments on these welcomed:

  • Upload to gallery directly from the forum (attachments)
  • Not having to create a gallery before uploading
  • Information error messages
  • Cleverer upload system to upload larger images on slower connections and resize before uploading
  • Better file management - move/rotate/resize
  • Numberplate eraser tool
  • Display of remaining file quota

Now off you go!

I personally have no probs with the current system Martin, but your list has two IDEAL additions. A numberplate editor and file resizing would be a great time saver and would like that included Thumbs Up

Nothing wrong with it is there.

If you know how to use it it's ok - but for a novice it's very clunky.

Plus the support/help for it is hostile to say the least... and updating it to the latest version would probably take as long as sorting out new software.

I would like to be able to drag-and-drop files into the gallery rather than the current method - not sure if that is technically possible though..
