What's all that cr@p on the roofs? looks like they've been to a car boot sale FFS (iaia)
The wheels are a 10 spoke alright but I don't think they're the standard D3 18" version - look at the extra ribs on the spokes....
hopefully they'll be more than orange taxi's in 2009
don't the 08 or 09 models have the extra rib ?

They are only available to buy after they've been used in a G4 event.........
I think I'm going to have make a fair stab at getting either the D3 or RRS when they're done with it.
Not sure how I'm going to go about it, but I'll start with a few questions with my dealer in the morning.
Mrs Zeb will kill me, but I just feel it's my duty to at least ask
Most of the fllet are D3's with 110's as support. At best there will be 6 or so of each of FFRR/RRS/FL2 (as insider info at the moment) but as the challenge is in China and Mongolia, they can make them all RHD top UK spec
PS if you want an RRS there are 3 for sale at the moment ranging from 25k to 31k, and they are all very sticky - you can chance you arm on a low offer Craig

The vehicles won't be available until very late 2009 or early 2010 so don't pi$$ her off just yet! They are still 'bare' vehicles at the moment about to go through veh Opp's to have all the kit fitted and will be shipped to Mongolia next March after International Selections. About 10 have been kitted out already for the Recce teams and National Selections.
They will be sold, if the same as last time, at auction to dealers only so hopefully you can prime a dealer to bid on one for you! I know Ben at Duckworths did this last time for some specific customs so could be a good contact next time around.Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

No, it's all bolt on bits available as accessories + MTR's. Suspension and all running gear is standard D3 HSE. Only vehicles with lots of custom work are the Ambulances, workshops and the Comms car.Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!
As he says, all the kit is in the LR catalogue except the lights.
As for dealers, if you are serious, the following are all good contacts:
- Farnells in Yorkshire
- Duckworths in Lincolnshire (?)
- Caffyns in Suusex
- Some of the Stratstones are interested, if you after a specific vehicle, Sarah at Bury and Jeremy at high Wycombe are both good contacts.
But it is still a good 18 months before the first 09 cars will be released, and the majority will not come out until mid 2010 (if previous patterns are to be repeated.Craig

Mmmmm, I'll have a chat with the dealer over the next few days & sound things out.
I had reckoned on late '09 alright before they are released. What really attracts me is the fact that they are Diesel.
A 4.4Ltr V8 petrol would be financial suicide here in Ireland.
Anyway, we'll see what happens over time.............
