I have an 80Ah AGM battery on order. Will stick with the current crank battery - and intending to power the winch from the crank battery. The leisure battery is for the fridge and other internal lights etc.
Been persuaded to upgrade my charger to a 40a DC to DC charger for more ooomph - that an AGM can take apparently. I say one because I am also having a 120Ah AGM fitted to my trailer and the charger will charge both.
ETA:
Was advised not to get too hung up on the Ah as that is a red herring to the quality, ergo, an 80Ah AGM will do much more than an 85Ah traditional.D3 07 SE - still going strong

So progress has been slow! work and life have truly got right in the way of working on Captain Carrot.
Tonight I managed to finish getting the front carpets out and started on the rear carpets. My lounge has now started to fill up with Discovery parts...

Lol, well one thing leads to another and all that.
On lifting the wet carpet I discovered some small areas of rust, so as I intend to keep the car for many years, I thought it best to strip the interior and completely deal with it. I have some rust treatment and Orange raptor that I am going to use over the whole floor.
Then I have to install a few other bits and bobs, so stripped out is easier.
I do also have an iid tool that I need to get coded to the car when I remember!

So today saw the replacement of all four sunroof drains, and my fab neighbour, a really good windscreen guy, refitted the scuttle and a post trims properly (they were badly done before). A good soaking with the hose showed that the car is watertight!

Nice to see Captain Carrot in person meet another member another top guy and similar philosophy to help each other if possible. Interesting to see how it progresses and see if I can be converted to the heated steering wheel Your son is ideal size for working inside the Carrot and with hands that can access those hard to reach areas.
