I used a 3mm sheet of Aluminium - with 150mm wide Grip Tape to do the chevron pattern to make it a bit safer up top.
The sheet is 1610mm long, 1100mm wide at the front and 1060mm wide at the back. I drilled 3 rows of 5x 12mm holes from front to back - one row down the centre and one either side 30mm in from the edge.
The hole centres being at 31mm from the front edge, next 420mm from 1st hole centre, then 375mm from 2nd hole, 372mm from 3rd hole, 375mm from 4th hole, leaving 31mm to the back edge.
The holes have a 4mm clearance, but just double check the hole centres and sheet dimensions before you cut and drill as I can't guarantee that every rack is exactly the same same.
On the diagram The dimensions on the chevrons are just the lengths of grip tape for each stripe - I haven't fitted this yet as it's too wet out. Once the tape is on, I'll post some photos of the final product.
To install it, slide it in from the back below the top cross bars - the rack is narrower at the top that the sheet is. I fixed the sheet in place with 12 lashing eyes - and have 3 holes down the middle should I need them.
Materials cost me £125 for the sheet & tape and £40 for 6 extra lashing eyes. All in all, it took 45-60 minutes to do - but I had the use of a heavy sheet cutter in my mate's workshop.
Here's the final product:
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Anyone having some experience in putting a tent on/over it ?
My tent is 140 cm wide and I must say that I'm not that fond of Windcheetah...

The Expedition Rack is not super-robust. In particular, it doesn't handle point-loads very well - it flexes substantially when standing on it - although stiff flooring does help.
140 cm wide? - that's a good-sized tent. Are you planning on having multiple people in the tent? If so, I'm not sure that's a good idea, especially if you have the glass roof. Although I've not seen it happen, I could imagine that loading the rack like that could stress the mounting rails which might crack the roof.
If you don't want to experiment, poke around in the Africa section. I'm pretty sure a bunch of them have rack tents.

That's a fair statement... I indeed have the glass roof. I'm a bit concerned about the weight I'm going to put on the disco..
A 7 seats HSE Auto;
A family of 5 (OK kids are below the 100lbs mark)
A compressor fridge
The full size extended range tank (110 l)
The 2 spare wheels
the hilift and recovery material (including warn winch)
The rooftent (100lbs on its own)
and some more things... This won't be light in the dunes
Anyway I think I'll go for the Windcheetah and try to do something about the wind noise. Any nice exemples of fitting some lights on it ?
