I've been having real problems getting a mount point on the Expo rack - the standard brackets cannot go around the frame, and the ones that fit into the slot in the bars seem fine-ish for the 2m/70cm but i'm not sure how they will cope with the more solid 28Mhz antenna. methinks it will just break the bracket/slot and end up on the road. Anyone got picks/details of a good solid antenna mount onto the expo rack (not roof rails).......

An easy way to overcome thisis to fit (pop rivet) an ally plate to the deck of the rack. I welded a plate to my Hanibal rack. You can then fit a body mount (through a hole type).

By fitting the plate you will also improve the ground plane. So you can then use a shorter aerial. The last time I checked my swr on the Red Pearl it was 1.2 and it got a short whip.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I use a Sirio ML145. Got a nice springy bit on it, seems to take a good beating!
