Fuel rail pressure
Hi!
Have look the fuel rail pressure today with IID on our D4, 2009, 2.7l, EURO 4.
Had a failure few days ago (P0087-00 and P0191-23).
I'm surprised that the pressure is so low, the workshop manual says a maximum of 1650 bar for the 2.7l engine.
Are the values from the IID still correct?

Hi !
Have you seen this video ? May be some things to check on low pressure circuit before.
Just note that Christian often refers to this forum

yes know it
Question is: are the measured pressure okay....

Must be if it’s running ok, sure you aren’t getting bar and psi mixed up :whistle:out of the top of my head it’s around 6700psi..It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Those pressures are no-load, and therefore OK. If you can measure requested torque and rpm/pressure, that will give a better idea of if there is a concern or not. The DTC's indicate a lack of fuel volume which can point to a restricted filter, a restricted pre-filter, low flow from the LP pump (in-tank) or ultimately a problem with the HP pump / PCV.

Hi Flatlander,
I didn't know that the pressure in the rail also depends on the torque. Of course, the car was stationary when I measured it and only the engine was running.
I also measured the low pressure and determined the following pressures:
Engine off: 0.5 bar
Engine idle: 0.35 bar
Engine at approx. 3000rpm: 0.15 bar
I haven't measured the flow rate yet. How much should that be per minute?
