Fuel Prices.

Hi All,
Notice the polyglot fuel thieves have , slowly, passed on cheaper petrol prices?
Notice how slow they are on reducing the price of diesel? Cheaper to produce better for the environment but still up to 15 cents a litre dearer than petrol. Hi Caver,
You mean Caltex, & therefore Safeway/Woolworths, do not have to use Euro std diesel. Shocked Shocked Shocked

I have not noticed a problem. I use an independent (usually 10c cheaper than majors) and have not noticed a problem. I got bad batch from another independent once but don't know where the sourced their diesel.

Thanks Caver,
I'll be avoiding the big C for, a while at least.
I've noticed some Ind. are cheaper even with 10c.p.l. off @ Safeway/Woolies.

Support the independents! Very Happy but watch for bio-diesel blends.
My independent sources from caltex and no black smoke at all. A lttle light stuff that only shows up at night under hard acceleration (I can't resist dragging off boy racers at the lights sometimes Whistle ) in the headlights of the car I just left at the lights! Very Happy

Older boy racers are better. Jaws drop, jealousy increases and curses yelled as the question is asked what the f*#^? How did HE get one of those and look at that grin. Wink

Couldn't agree more, the price of diesel over petrol is disgusting. I find it hard to understand why they can charge more for diesel when it cost less to distill diesel from crude oil. Their justification about supply and demand is BS, the scientific truth is that diesel has a higher energy density than petrol. That is the only reason I am willing to pay more for diesel other than the fact that I have not bloody alternative.

A relative of mine buys from an independent and they use a biodiesel blend. I asked him what was the difference compared to crude oil diesel, he said performancewise, no difference, slight difference in odour and the colour of biodiesel is more green(or is it yellow?) than the clear colour of crude oil diesel. May start using it when it becomes more common and accepted.

How much is diesel in Australia?

In the UK we are currently paying 83p to 85p per litre.
1 British pound = 2.52319489 Australian dollar today.

This is equivalent to Australians paying 2.15 Aus Dollars per litre.
