Fuel level low warning light on, despite full tank |
|
For the third time now, in as many months, the low fuel warning light on the dash and satnav has come on, only this time it's stayed on. Previously it went off after 10 mins or so.
I've read elsewhere that is could be loose wires behind the o/s/f wheel arch liner, a faulty fuel sender or a loose wire on the fuel tank, but nothing sounded conclusive and no-one seemed to have an solution.
Any ideas? I don't want to waste time and cash removing the tank!
It's a 2010 TDV6 HSE

Check your battery first!
I had this and went to to dealers who diagnosed both tank fuel senders had gone so replaced under warranty. Apparently a common fault.
Few days later the oil level check went bonkers as well. Back to a different dealer who diagnosed as a couple of dud cells in the battery which was replaced under warranty. Asked about the erratic fuel gauge and he said that dud batterycan cause that as well. Bazza M111
