Has anyone noticed that the fuel flap doesn't lock. Lock up your car and press the flap, it opens . Surely this is a design fault 2005 TDV6 SE Silver/Black Manual + Alpine

How did you lock the car ?
On my UK HSE, one press of the lock button locks all doors and the fuel flap. A second press, keeps the doors locked but unlocks the fuel flap...see pages 37,38,39 of the manual. Maybe it is a safety feature for transport on ships etec with interior protection off, doors locked but ability to drain fuel if needed ???

A single press isn't locking the fuel cap. It's arming the interior as indicated by the triple flash on the dash as explained on p37... so it must be a fault or as you say, a delivery mode. I'll call in to the dealer to have it checked. Thanks for the feedback. 2005 TDV6 SE Silver/Black Manual + Alpine

Just checked mine. If I lock the car with a single press, all doors and the fuel flap lock.
If I unlock, the first press unlocks the drivers door and the fuel flap.
If I lock the car, and press again in quick succession, it locks the doors without interior protection, but does not lock the fuel flap!

Thanks for doing those checks. The dealer got it working for a few goes but then it seemed to stop again. Thev've ordered a new motor for the flap locking mech'. Setting the 'autolock' feature on the setup menu seems to have helped as this prompts the car to retry it's central locking and does lock the fuel flap sometimes. 2005 TDV6 SE Silver/Black Manual + Alpine

Tested on mine - normal (full) lock definitely locks fuel cap - however the interior disable setting results in the fuel cap being unlocked (so will have to rely on the dogs guarding the fuel!!) Then after a few more lock/unlocks the whole thing gave up & horn beeped each time, until I activated the ignition!! (computer gremlins again?)

Correct. North America doesn't include the locking mechanism for the door. Quite stupid that it was "decontented."

This happened while the dealer was testing it...after 4 or 5 goes the horn sounded and it seemed to give up. However, since enabling the menu setting for autolock the fuelflap has locked properly, but I'll give it a little bit longer before I'm convinced . 2005 TDV6 SE Silver/Black Manual + Alpine
