Hi Sam,
Like you, I expected this matter to have been addressed previously on the forum. However, a search has yielded no results.

As heaps of people have looked at your thread & not replied, I thought that I should try to find out for you (& me). Wink

The fuel filter on the TDV6 is located behind the fuel cooler at the rear of the engine. It is mounted inboard of, and attached to, the RH chassis rail.

The filter element is within a housing which is held in position by a horizontal clamp via a bolt & nut. You need to loosen this bolt & nut to remove the filter housing. It looks like you will need to remove the engine undertray in order to access the filter assembly.

A water drain plug is located at the base of the filter & this can be partially unscrewed in order to drain water from the filter housing. I was unable to find the torque to apply on retightening.

HTH,
Peter

Sam, this could help

Not a good pic, but you can get the idea of the lay out.
The pipes clip off the filter, NB make a sketch of the lay out,
as each pipe has a different colour clip, note position.

Remove gearbox belly plate ( plastic ) with 10 mm socket, 4 x M6 bolts.
Pic shows my MY 07 filter conversion in progress, but that is where you
will find your filter, ours has been moved back to the tank.

Have fun Thumbs Up

Use your finger and thumb to press in the lugs whilst pulling off.

Fuel Filter

Not to difficult of a job the filter will have some diesel in it so be careful when you unplug the fuel lines. Fuel ines are all colour coded and you will need to bled the the fuel before staring the car. Bleed valve is under the the plastic engine cover under the bonet. take engine cover off and have a piece of cloth ready to collect the fuel as you bleed it. You will need to turn the ignition only half way on and notttt all the way to the start position.
At this point you will be able to hear the fuel pump running and this is where you will have to bleed the valve untill the diesel starts ouzing out. One this happens switch off the ignition and repeat the process three times before starting the car leave to run for a few minute and a couple of push on the gas pedel.
Hope this helps.
Enjoy Thumbs Up

I have changed the fuel filter twice and I had never bled the system, All I do is turn the ignition on wait about 5 to 8 seconds and turn the ignition off, repeat this 3 to 4 times and then fire the engine up. No problem Thumbs Up
