Hello All, am new to DIY car maintenance and am have a lot of trouble installing a new fuel filter on my D4. The old one comes out fine so I purchased the identical Crossland part but can't get the new one in. It just does not quite push up high enough in the housing to engage the housing threads. The old filter goes back in fine. It look like the rubber seal on the top of the new filter is a slightly smaller bore than the old one. I tried a Britpart filter as well - same story. Should I lube the seal or the housing? Or heat the seal a bit ? Are they always a pain to get in ? Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

Yes grease the seal up, they are tight, see if you can use a lever to press up and turn it.

Line the arrow up on the side of the filter with the one on the side of the filter housing It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks Disco Mikey, you were spot on. Bought an original filter and it went straight in.
