Fuel Filler Flap Won't Open
Anyone ever had this?
Had managed to run the Miles Remaining figure below 30 today and went to fill up - bl**dy flap wouldn't open no matter how much I thumped and messed with it (without resorting to damaging it). Drove it a further couple of miles and parked up at a shop resigned to a trip to GS at some point. Came back out, unlocked the car and the flap popped open
Drove straight back to the garage (with flap slightly open) and filled up.
Don't know if it's going to do it again.... Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

This has been reported before, I think there is a plastic catch that breaks. Other than that, WD40 might be an answer.
I think there is a manual emergency release cord in the side panel inside the boot. Might be a good idea to confirm this, and locate it.

Just had a look at mine, there is no release cable as such, but the lock cable is accessible, and you can manually move the lock motor which is on the end of the cable. You have to take the wheel change kit and jack out to access.
