I have searched and found some solutions, but have checked and they don't seem to be relevant to me.
Situation:
2005 TDV6
Autologic Remap
EGR venturi crimped, butterfly removed.
148000km (~90000miles)
Fuel consumption until recently: 13/100km town, 11-12l/100km country.
Now: 14-15l/100km consistent with no change between town/country, loaded/unloaded.
Wheel bearings fine
Brakes fine
EPB fine
Air filter new (OEM)
Tyre pressures correct
Tyres relatively new
Intercooler not clogged externally.
Intercooler hoses secure
Injector cleaner run through
No logged faults other than EGRV C failure
Occasional bus signal missed with TCM
The EGRV fault occured at approx the same time as the fuel cons went bad. Some have told me that the EMS alters parameters if an EGR fault is registered, but recently some others have suggested that this isn't true. Does anyone know for surw\e?
Any suggestions as to the next thing to check gratefully welcomed. Have a nice day!

Is it possible that the shuddering transmission is at fault? The engine having to do more work to get the same power to the ground? Have a nice day!

Back to the EGRV issue.
I have searched and found several posts that suggest that the ECM may drop back to a reduced power profile if DTC are logged for ERGV faults.
Maybe this hasn't happened for some, but maybe it has for me. As I have a remap, maybe the power reduction by the ecm is being compensated for by the remap. Thus giving me more power, but worse fuel consumption?
The second thought I had is this: I have also found several posts that refer to the EGRV failures as being due to corrosion. NOW, if I was to leave the failed valve in and put up with the increased fuel usage; whats the risk associated with the corroded valve? Won't it continue to corrode and thus increase the risk of damaging particles entering the engine?
It seems to me, that my only course of action is to replace the failed EGRV. This will protect the motor and hoepfully give me back some of my fuel economy.
This may not be the entire cause, but it is probably contributing. Have a nice day!
