Hi,
Only to tell it again.
All works perfect. The HVAC starts and runs WITHOUT the key And you can start it with a
simply call.
But to get a better price we need to be at least 20 or more
Cheers

Just to get this clear in my head..
399 Eur for a fully plug and play unit that starts the FBH and HVAC via GSM?
If that's the case then I'm interested.. but like others i'm keen to see some documentation etc..

This will probably work on the RRS too so if numbers are needed for group buy I suggest a post on rrsport. Can someone get back to supplier and see if the system works on the RRS. Loving the power of the TDV8!

Hi VA, yes I was planning to open a post on RRS forum, was just waiting for a proper group buy post to be open here, I sent a PM to Gerd on that.
I also sent a PM to Bobby to see if he could confirm that the HVAC on the Disco is the same as on the RRS and if he thought it may work on it(I think it should work)

This sounds great, but does anyone know if you fit all this and you can't call the GSM for whatever reason, whether the FBH will still come on automatically as factory set. "Tie me kangeroo down sport!"

I am also interested in full system, but also want know if FBH will work after engine is running to provide extra heat when needed, as skyerover mentioned? Better value than heated steering wheel.!

Just to update, The GSM basic unit (NOT the PRO version) arrived 1 week after ordering and I plugged it in to the same socket used by my existing danhag W-Bus converter. Works wonderfully, didnt have to change any wiring and could use the existing harness.
I have the standard ariel poking out of a waterpoof box velcroed under the V in ROVER on the front plastic cover. Reception is very good with the heating switchable in an underground carpark.
Thinking of getting the IPCU controller but need D3 specific instructions. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

The GSM controller like the W-Bus converter controls the heater irrespective of external temperature, whether the motor is running or not or whether the car is active or not. It cuts out when the engine coolant reaches target temp (I think 75 C) There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

johoso1 wrote:Hi,
Just bought GSM unit and webasto timer last week and are now waiting for wires and bits&pieces. So now I read about this unit which can actually activate fan!! Perfect timing..
Could it not be possible to combine the "normal" timer/GSM solution with the canbus converter? With the outcom that you can use the timer as well as the GSM?
I assume that the timer is just a switch like the GSM unit. Combined with the new canbus converter connected to the car you also have the option of the timer - am I right?
Johan
I dont think that a timer is necessary. You could use an auto dialer to call the GSM at a predefined schedule from your android / iPhone to get the timing functionality. Anyone know any good software for this (android phone) possibly linked to calendar events
The GSM unit switches the heating on/off simply by calling it (the call is rejected after 2 seconds[DISABLE CALL RETRYS !!!) There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
