Front wheel wobble under light breaking?
Morning, bit of help if possible? The Disco has developed a wobble under light breaking (steering wheel visibly wobbles in your hands). Definitely coming from the front end but doesn't do it all the time? If you heavy brake it stops perfectly straight and goes through the wobble (all pads replaced in the last 3 weeks, rear discs in last 4 months, front discs in the last 12-ish). Wondering if it may be a warped front disc (bit would that not do it all the time?) a wheel bearing?, or wheel balance out? Any ideas? Going to try the wheel balance first as thats the cheapest! I had similar effect, wobble under light braking, none under hard braking - was front discs out of line (and these were brand new Britpart discs) - swapped for genuine LR items, wobble gone.

Fairly common, warped brake discs. For me it's something I can live with.

Have you been off road lately ? might be mud on the inside of the rim
Failing this, as you have suggested, it could be a warped disc(s) or wheels out of balance 8)
It is unlikely to be anything more serious, or i think it would show up all the time Never get mad - get even !!

before you start chucking disc,s at it try and find someone with a micro run out meter to check for and run out in the disc,s as for balance if your not getting steering vibration at normal or motorway speeds or maybe a little higher it wont be that in my opinion.

had this,
changed both track rod ends. slight wobble persisted, changed the front discs and pads. jobs a gud 'un.
check your pads for wear though, the inside and outside pad on front right on mine showed signs of uneven wear. whetehr this was due to the wobble or what im not sure, but be no harm check them anyway.

First and most basic thing to check [and I don't think it's been mentioned so far] is that your wheels are seated and secured properly.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Front wheel wobble under light breaking?
Cheers for the advice guys.
I can't verify the quality of the discs which were installed on the front a year or so ago as they were fitted my my friends mate, who bought the discs. Likely to be cheap 'uns though!
It started to happen not long before the new front pads were fitted but the pads were removed the one on the back of the disc was down virtually to the metal with a bit more on the front, so possible there has been some disc damage/warp-age. Need to check there is no issue with the refitting of the wheels too as its been doing it a fair bit more in the last week or so.K7MUN TDV6 S Auto, 2005, Adriatic Blue, Xenons, Harmon Kardon, SE Alloys & AT's. 170k miles. I had a Brake Wobble, and was getting a bit un-nerving when braking. Was on the original discs mind, so decided to replace with OEM Discs, and brilliant now. Stops quick, straight and true
