My 2 front have gone. While I was getting it confirmed the garage had another in and both his front ones had gone too. Is all the wet weather to blame?

By the way, my D3 has only covered 48,000 miles all gently on tar-mac - absolutely no off-roading!! Seems like a very low mileage to have to perform such a task I would say....

Anyone any ideas how to get the bearing assembley from the vehicle? I think it may be rusted in?
Tried cold chisel, replacing nuts from rear and tapping them and after 4hrs I've called it a day for today.
Cheers

penetrating oil around the joint, perseverance with the hammer using opposing strikes, it will move, work it back in a bit even with more penetrating oil, when it moves enough you can carefully use a wedge but make sure when it starts to move you are getting it straight out, keep at it

I have just changed both front bearings on my friends 09 plate which has only done 39k. Bearings were seized solid in the housing and each took about 2 hours of hitting with a heavy hammer to move them. I found that holding one hammer on the hub and hitting it was the most effective way of breaking the seal caused by the rust. JRC

Thanks for the help..... eventually got it off and the bearing replaced in time for Roast Beef yesterday!
I found knocking it off centre (almost like unscrewing it) a little did the trick then careful application of 16.5 st on the other end of a 2lb hammer did the trick! Still can't be too bad as the bearing has laster 176k miles!

I attempted to change my 2 fronts this week. Managed to get everything stripped down and the half shaft removed with the help of a puller. But then couldn't get the hubs to budge as they were rusted solid to the carrier
So put it all back together and off to my local Indy - it took him 3 hours of wrangling to get them both off so there's no way I'd have managed it.
Wallet a little bit lighter, but safe and secure in the knowledge that it's done now
