Front door speaker distortion, any ideas?
Morning all. My drivers door speaker is quite crackly or distorts when i turn the volumn up on my disco (around 15 to 17) and it won't play anything like as loud as my previous disco did without distortion. 18-20
I expect that something is loose or the speaker is on its way out. Is there any replacements that are better or is there a common fix before i take it to bits or just order replacement speakers?

I'd guess you just have a damaged cone. I personally think the standard speakers are fine, and don't think replacements are needed.Richard

thanks, i imagined that for LR to sell the Logic 7 system as premium system they would have done their homework on the speaker quality, maybe i will just open it up and check if they are broken, that would be better.

Double check the door storage.
I had what I thought was a damaged speaker cone in the front passenger door. It turned out to be a small piece of boiled sweet that was rattling at a certain frequency/volume. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

A couple of times now, I have found the sound quality poor/ muffled in main drivers door speaker ( not HK). Loosening the door trim at the bottom half, I was able to get to the speaker connections, and pull them off and back on again a few times. This cleaning of the connections restored the sound back to normal. But I dare say it will happen again. Worth a try, before replacing anything.D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay.
