D4 SDV6 2013 - Is EGR valve blanking possible? MOT fail.

Hi all
I have been to look at a private sale of a 2013 D4 SDV6 today as a replacement for my deceased D3.

I reviewed the MOT history online and there was a fail in October 2019 for 'Repair immediately (major defects): Rear Engine MIL inoperative or indicates a malfunction (8.2.2.2 (g))'. My understanding is this means engine warning light was either on and didn't go out or doesn't come on at all? Vehicle was retested and passed same day with an extra 10 miles on the clock so guessing it went somewhere for a mod or different test centre.

When I saw it today I plugged my IID tool in and no fault codes listed and all cleared so no clues there. Owner is on holiday so met his son who didn't know full history (I know not committing till I meet the owner). Vehicle has 50K on clock and drives fine.

Following more research once I got home I was wondering whether this meant EGR valves had been blanked?, although I can't see much about doing this on SDV6? Is that because engine management light cant be mapped out on SDV6 and so not recommended mod because it is now an automatic fail under new MOT?

Dash is different on D4 to D3 so perhaps wasn't paying close enough attention but didnt notice engine management light come on and go off, how easy is it to disconnect that light on a D4?

Any advice appreciated, want to get my technical facts right before I ask owner about EGR blanking, car is good but dont want to buy it finding it needs 2 new EGR valves to pass next MOT?

A 2013 SDV6 will have a DPF as well as EGRs so I don't think its possible to remove the EGRs as they are needed to regenerate the DPF
 Must stop buying shiny toys....

Mine is a LR4 2010 HSC and I had mine blanked off a few years ago.
They are not totally blanked off as there is a small hole in the blanking disc, Just like a washer.
