Front Brake Disc Shields
What's the general view to leaving the shields off.
I am about to do the 6 pot conversion and really find it hard to justify £100+ for two bits of tin.
Thanks

My view is that if Land Rover didn’t think they were needed they wouldn’t have fitted them. I am sure someone will be a long soon with a more ‘technical’ answer. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Strictly speaking, they are not essential. I ran my 4 pots without shields without any real issues

Manufacturers have incorporated shields to vehicles fitted with disc brakes for 50+ years, so it seems to me that in eras of cost-savings, etc, they'd have been deleted donkey's years ago if they weren't necessary.PAGODA
