Freelander 2 loan car
Motor's in for a service until tomorrow arvo...they have given me a new Freelander 2 SE as a loaner. Much improved over the older model ...lovely ride, engine very responsive (if a little noisy though)...must say that I'm dissappointed with the boot space, the spare wheel is very invasive. Overall first impressions are very positive ...but not enough to give me seconds thoughts about my D3.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Might have to book mine in to have a test drive! GS Thames Ditton DG?Loving the power of the TDV8!

yep...also been told that there are 'new' software upgrades being put on the D3 during it's service ...but I didn't get to the bottom of what they are?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I loved our D3.
I'm allowed to say that the Freelander is much better driving car
ok it won't take you the same places off road.
I know I know but it is handles the tarmac much better IMHO
Noisy engine h'mm can't say I have found it any worse than the D3.

Horses for courses. Fiona you'll certainly get there quicker and using less fuel. The HSE is more luxurious than my D3, but it doesn't waft along and yer can't see over hedgerows! I wouldn't say it was noisy either.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Say what you will but the engine is distinctly noisier at idle and in the lower gears....I'd even go as far to say that idle noise is 'poor' in my book almost reminiscent of a Maestro diesel I had in the late 80's ... This one has 87 miles on the clock so may need some bedding in?
Better driver's car ?.... yes I could agree with that ...well thats what it is in reality ...a 'car' ...I can never bring myself to call the D3 a 'car'...it's a 'motor' and is still in a different league
Hat's off to LR though ...much better than the old car 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
