Foul 4x4 disease spreads to New Zealand |
|
The horrific Anti 4x4 disease that we have seen spreading throughout the UK has made it's way around the world to afflict New Zealand.....and by the look of this columnist's face... it's a particularly bad mutant strain.

Luckily we Americans DO have the right to bear arms. Keeps us from crazies like that "woman".
No one remembers what the U in SUV stands for until they want to borrow their neighbor's vehicle.
I feel sorry for those columnists. They obviously never leave their urban environment, have never moved anywhere, have never travelled, had a family, or ever done anything where a larger vehicle might be required. I sort of pity them. A quick look at google.co.nz tells us her interests are growing roses, embroidery, having a romantic decorating style and owning fluffy dogs, while her partner is a politician. Despite this singularly dull and meaningless life that lends nothing to mankind, she seems to have an opinion on just about everything.
A bit like Clare Short then. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Why, oh why is this crap always written by people who know nothing about cars?
As for the columnists accident statistics, lets face it; if the photo is anything to go by even a 2.7 ton 4X4 would be bound to come off worse in a collision with that mound of whinging blubber.
I feel better for getting that off my chest.

clearly she cannot provide an impartial opinion on the subject, as her prejudice and conflicted interests are blatantly apparant...
(I suspect that whilst she was in the womb, her mother was directly polluted by "these lumbering great monsters fouling our air"). Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

When she was in the womb the only lumbering etc idiots in NZ were props & volcanoes. Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

To add a dissenting voice, as is my habit, I did note this qualifying statement that serves to largely redeem the article:
"With only 15 per cent of 4WD drivers doing what the bus was built for – to go off road – THE REST cast their intimidating shadow..."
So she is obviously not taking aim at me nor most of us here, I assume... And regarding those whom she IS talking about, I don't whole-heartedly disagree... I've always held in low regard those city dwellers who insist on oxymoron 4WDs (BMW X5 being the prime example).

Ah, the old divide and conquer. As soon as you start adding caveats to who can and who can't have a 4x4, "they" have won. We either stick together and say "I choose a 4x4 so I WILL have one" or we get into ever more restrictive scraps on who is "worthy" of having one
A dangerous road.... I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I kinda agree with you but why are they intimidating. buses and trucks must make them absolutely pee their pants, what I find intimidating is some 6" from your bumper and the little cars that fill the gap you have just left for braking. also others buy a 4x4 purely to tow a boat or horse box and never intend to take it off road which is also their right to do so. typical uniformed alarmist guff to be flushed with the rest of the crap.

I pay no attention whatsoever to such looney writers or articles. My worry is that too many people do.
Nanny State.
Police State.
in a state.
where/when will it end?
