Fixing split leather on drivers side (RHS) seat squab.

My D3 driver seat, bottom squab, has a couple of small splits starting to appear on the outer edge.
I'd like to get this fixed before it gets too bad, and am wondering if the whole seat needs to come out to get the bottom squab off, or if the bottom squad can be removed with the seat in the car???
Then, I can take it to a trimmer to get it fixed.
Alternatively, can you swap the passenger side with the driver side???
It's not an electric seat, but it does have an airbag in the seat back which I need to careful of.
Any help greatly appreciated.

The squabs can be easily swapped, four screws accessed from under the seat and they just lift out, put seat max forward and high and from rear passenger footwell you will see the rear torque screws, move seat max rear and height to access front screws these are more difficult, be sure to use the correct size torque bit as the screws are easily rounded off.
You need a 1/4” drive ratchet, lift the squabs carefully and be aware there are cables under there, best to take a photo of them before disconnecting.
If you don’t swap the seat belt sensor from passenger side over obviously it won’t work, this is a simple pad sensor and entails undoing the clips under the squabs, quite easy doable just takes time.

This photo is from my 15 year old D3 before I sold it.

 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Ooh, are they completely symmetrical? Sounds almost too good to be true to get a nice firm seat 🙂
