Hi sure I have read on here how easy it is to change the lock with keys on the fixed tow bar.
Car went in for service yesterday, they found some outher problems track rod end hand brack sticking plus a few outhers bits. I had asked them to change mine over becouse key could not open, they said they did not have time and would have to cut it off, is this right. convoy For Heroes record holder (348)

You won't find the info on here but if you buy yourself a new lock (about a tenner ISTR) and it'll be obvious how to change it.
For a garage to say they don't have time I'd take that as them really saying we don't know how to do it and can't be arsed to work it out and wouldn't use them again. Surely any 'normal' garage would take the extra time and charge you for it  The End

That said, there isn't much difference between buying a new lock and cutting the old one off and buying a new lock and removing it. It took me 20 mins to remove and was a right pain in the  .

Easy to change. I snapped a key off in mine and had a new lock fitted gratis which was a nice touch
Strange to say they don't have time to sort it out for you
