I've just measured them.
A standard ball is 100mm from the centre of the fixing holes to the very top of the ball.
An Alko one is 110mm

A standard ball, from the towbar plate (where the towball mounts) to the inside edge of the ball (therefore the gap) is 30mm. The Alko is 55mm

It seems there may be slight differences depending on suppliers Question

Height difference between my stnd and Alko is only 6 or 7mm
same 25mm extra length rear of flange to centre of ball 50mm and 75mm

Tks RB, interesting.

While I was under the back end I noticed under each corner of the body were two hinged metal weights/blocks. Apart from dropping rust and dust in my eyes I am unsure of their purpose. Any ideas what they are?

Tks

Alex

The are harmonic dampers. They damp put vibrations etc and make the journey more pleasant.
