Fitting RRS Badges

Tried to fit the RSS badges. Don't get the rear one off with a screwdriver. Scared to damaged something. Front one: Is there really no other way then make hole with a drill to get it out?

Any help welcome Exclamation

If you get the disc off the plastic surround you can then put it over the existing badge on the grill. It sits slightly proud but looks ok.

Screw the tip of a small flat blade screwdriver a few mm into the centre of each badge and then lever them out

Liberal amounts of white spirit around the edges to loosen the glue, mask round the surrouding plastic and use a Stanley knife to get behind the metal backing of the original badge.

For some reason the front had stickier glue than the rear....worth getting the metal backing off as the front badge sits nicely flush with the surface.

Good luck

Sounds a bit long winded to me Confused the chances of getting them out in one piece are pretty slim so just rip them out. I don't think the front is any 'stickier' it's just stuck on a more adhesive surface, paint at the front and plastic at the rear
They fit flush (assuming you've removed all the old ones) without removing the metal backs

To be honest, I just drilled the front badge with a small drill - as its a plastic grille - no chance of rust etc, and then job is done without any fuss and possibility of scratching the paint off the grille when trying to remove the badge and you will never see the hole again Wink

RRS Badges

I put the car in the garage and "borrowed" the wife's hairdryer. Whistle Whistle I only needed to heat the old green badges for around 30 to 45 seconds and they literally fell off. Helps the new ones to stick well if you're well prepared in advance with new labels peeled. A fine electricians screwdriver and a little masking tape will seal the deal. Thumbs Up

Re: RRS Badges

Can you go into a little more detail about how the badges are changed out,i have them already and didn't do anything with them fearing paint damage. you literally blow dried them and they fell out, then you just popped the new black ones right in? no fuss?

Mate of mine changed the badges on his Ford a bit back, the insert, just glued in, was the correct oval size & shape, the right shade of blue, had the same script & even four letters. What did it say ? It said fart
Rolling with laughter

Why would you want to change ?

The change is dead easy, as others say just drill or cut the centre of the badge then prise off with a screwdriver, you won't damage the edges then. New ones stick straight on. Airbag one is a bit tricker but not that taxing.

I swapped out all mine for black and silver and they look 8) IMHO.

Agree, looks good Andy, especially on Silver [and Java]

Badges in my door cards are bigger then the ones in the kit so can't do it.

Not fussed TBH as they are black anyway
