Just a few pictures of my D4 with its new wheels and tyres.
Compomotives shod in 255/70/18 Goodyear Duratrac’s.
it’s very close on full lock on the chassis probably 1mm clearance but that will increase as the tyres wear, at the front of the bumper approx 10mm clearance so no rubbing and I’ve not needed to increase the height but obviously could be done if required. The spare is tighter than expected due mainly to the add blue brackets so I’ll probably either mount on the roof rack or get a rear wheel carrier. But I’m loving the look of it.

Those look fantastic. Have you noticed any difference while driving? I'm looking at my 18 inch tyre options for a later model d3 and have been trawling through the threads. From what I gather the post 2007 d3's and d4s have less room for bigger tyres but it looks like you've squeezed those in perfectly!

In my opinion it drives better, the extra sidewall smooth’s out the pot holes so much better than the 20” rims with 50 profile tyres. I couldn’t go any bigger without chassis modifications which I wouldn’t want to do.
I have a set of 5 bfgoodrich ko2 265/65/18 all terrain if you’re interested, still with the bobbles on.

Yeah my d3 currently has 50 profile on 19s (previous owner got them straight off a rrs I think) and the 50s really ruin the comfort I find.

Did you ever have the 265 65s on? No rubbing issues? As you say I want to go a bit bigger but don't want to make any modifications to body work. I might be interested in the bfgs but I'm in northern Ireland so I would guess shipping will probably be prohibitive.

Those compomotives are great looking. I've picked up a set of the standard 5 spoke 18s but I'm hoping a refurb and decent tyres will make them look the part.

265/65/18 on standard 18 Land Rover alloys will fit the D3 unless you have fitted a D4 brake upgrade, they fit without rubbing.
Incidentally I’m over to Belfast once lock down measures are over as we sail there onto the south where I go fishing

They look great John can't beat satin black against Corris grey. Looking forward to getting my new rims shod and fitted.

I looked at the zeros prior to buying comps but decided with the extra spokes they’d be more difficult to clean.
Look nice though
