How to fit new wing mirror glass |
|
As the title says. My wing mirror was hit by a passing car & it knocked out the glass. Got a replacement but can't get it to fit in securely.

The old glass was knocked clean out.
I'm having difficulty getting the new glass to stay on securely. It doesn't seem to be clicking into place.

Have you checked that the circular receiver in the housing isn't damaged, or that there aren't still remains of the old mounting in there? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Had a closer look at the back of the new glass. Seems like there's a piece thats snapped off. Not sure if it was me who did it or if it was already broken as the box it came in was previously opened & resealed with sellotape.

And there I suspect lies your problem
Give Yeovil Land Rover a ring and they'll get one out to you in a sealed box, complete with forum discount I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

All sorted just took it back to the dealer I bought it from & swapped for a new one. Took less than 30secs to fit the thing.
