I've had a quote from Warranty Direct for my '08 HSE with 95k on the clock. It's the first extended warranty I've had to buy so I'm after a bit of advice.
The offer is their 'Secure Care' plan with Emissions & Airbags included at £50 a month for rolling cover (cancelled at any time) and from what I can see covers most things as well as wear and tear. However, they've said because of the mileage they will expect me to pay 50% towards the price of parts which seems steep to me.
Any thoughts....?

Do some searches on here. Plenty of examples of deals people have managed to obtain, including the removal of the betterment clause. Dont forget that corrosion is not covered - they may not cover your brake pipes that seem to deteriorate at your car's age. £50pm sounds about right, but see what else you can get - see search results. Push the salesman, you have nothing to lose. When it comes to claims, I have to say they have been efficient and fair. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Cheers Barnie, appreciate your comments.
I'll have a good look through this section then and then give it a go with WD, like you say I've got nothing to lose.

Right, back off holiday and managed to get WD to remove the betterment clause completely with the premium going up to £60 per month on a rolling contract on their Secure Care policy (as the car has done 96K miles) with emissions and airbags included.
Would those with experience of dealing with after-market warranties mind giving their views...?
Cheers.

Can you beat them up for Extra Care, covers quite a bit more including suspension? My "must (well want to) have" list is:
Extra Care
No betterment
Airbags & emissions
Main dealer rates
13 months for 12 so renewed for 25 months.
I tried to loose the excess but failed.
Pricd range £550 - £600, some have done better and list the excess.

Thanks DSL.
I'll give it a go and see what they say. I suppose the suspension is a biggie as all that's covered under Secure Care is wheel bearings.

Apart from a couple of big(ish) claims for turbos & transfer box oil leak probably about half if my claims have involved some suspension bit or other. They just wouldn't be covered by any other warranty due to wear & tear exclusions. Be aware of the 90 day wear & tear exclusion for WD if you are not coming from a warranty, this is not stopping failure claims though.

I've got a dealer warranty until the end of October so the WD will take over after that. I'll email them now about covering the suspension...

So, £60 a month for Extra Care cover, no betterment clause, airbags & emissions included on a rolling basis with a £50 excess - sounds do-able to me.
Whaddya reckon...?

Dealer rates? See if you can beat them up to £50 a month, with "do it for that and hear's my credit card no".

They wouldn't budge on the £60 a month - maybe due to mileage just ticking over 97,000 - but got dealer rates so I'm pretty happy.
Thanks for the advice DSL.

this is the preffered provider asking around...I've just splurged the dosh for my XK on this
I was warned off warranty direct BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Does the Car Care one cover wear & tear too? That's the reason I had WD (and Warranty Wise) recommended to me by someone who had a few claims on his previous motor, so I came on here to research and quite a few people - especially DSL - have certainly had their money's worth from the cover.
As it's a rolling contract if I find something better then I can switch at no cost so I'll be coming back to this section regularly!

Yes, I did. DSL advised to go for Extra Care as it covers all aspects of the suspension system, that was when the price went from £50 to £60 per month.
