United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 5 Seat Manual Arctic FrostDiscovery 3
First time on the trailer

Towed with my D3 for the first time today, and must say I'm impressed. I tow old tractors around, and today I took 2 of my Caterpillar tractors to a local rally. Weight of the tractor and Ifor Williams trailer combo was just about 3.5 tonnes - but the D3 took it all in it's stride. It's much better than the TD5 Disco it replaced - a lot more stable and the smooth power of the TDV6 engine is just fantastic!
There's just one thing that was interesting - taking a few tightish bends at approx 25 to 30 miles an hour, there was an ABS braking type rattling noise - I certainly wasn't braking, and it couldn't have been Traction control, as I wasn't depressing the throttle too much, and besides with that kind of weight on board you get pretty good traction! I took it to be the DSC working, but I can't understand why as I wasn't pushing on too hard.
Anyone else noticed this ??

(Yes, it's an odd spec - but I like it!)

It was probably traction control, it can cut in briefly when you're not expecting it. Although you'd normally use more throttle to 'encourage' it to come on it will come on automatically if your D3 detected the need for a little bit of TC

more likely DSC, TC would only come in if a wheel lost grip, DSC detects if you're 'overooking' it a bit and backs off the throttle / applies individual brakes as necassary to maintain stability. both systems use the same hardware, but for different reasons
