hi.
My TDV6 has just started showing a little clock and a number counting down (first noticed it at 29) when I insert the key into the ignition.
I bought the car new on 20/4/07 and so 20/10/07 will be 6 months, it has only done 6656Km as of now.
I just spoke to LR(Aust) dealer and the service department says a service is due every 6 months or 12,000 Km whichever comes first.
I don't have access to manual at the moment but twice a year service seems a bit excessive?
Anyone shed some further light on what I should do? regards
Peter

That's what the Passport To Service manual for NAS markets says: 6 mo. or 12K km. It also states if the vehicle is primarily for short trips or harsh environment to cut the maintenance intervals by half. 4x / yr?
But 2x / year seems ok to me. Our BMW X5 gets that...

G'Day Peter,
6 months/12k km's is what my service manual or "portfolio" says.
LR classify services into A,B & C categories.
A services at :12k/6 months, 36k/ 18 months, 60k/ 30 months,84k/ 42 months & 108k/ 60 months.
B services at: 24k/ 12 months, 72k/ 36 months & 120k/ 72months.
C services at: 48k/ 24 months & 96k/ 54 months.
Cheers Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

12months or 15k miles.
First service is approxmiately £250, but this will vary from dealer to dealer. Some will price match.... so it's worth phoning around the country.
Might be worth trying one of the site sponsors (Lakeland, or try Nick at Yeovil) as they will always do a good deal, and sometimes the trip out is worthwhile

Just had 45K and cost £360 - would have been much less if I had had not forgot the date it was being picked up and went and bought my own oil
30K was about £120, 15K about same Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

My D3 had its first service last October, total cost £883.94 - but that also covered the 2nd and 3rd year's service plus it's first MOT . It's booked in for its second service in October and there should be nothing to pay unless it needs new front brake pads (had to have the rears replaced on its first service but they only charged me £49 for this).
The price above also includes courtesy car on their insurance and gives me 20% discount on parts and labour.
I notice that my LR dealer still does this deal but the price has gone up slightly. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
