Give Lookers in Chelmsford a call for a price.
Hey did the 112k service on my XJ (3.0D) which includes a cambelt, the CSOV and re calibrated my rear suspension for under £900. That included a full service.
£500 seems expensive but perhaps there are more things to check on a Disco4.

I don't consider the oil to be overly expensive. Not as easy to find as C3 but comparable on price.
