First long run in the disco
Took the car for its first run today, from Gloucester to just outside Aylesbury. Mainly A roads and a bit of dual carriageway. Pretty pleased with this though. I know they aren't all that accurate, but even so, better than expected.
And then the return leg back to home got this.
Can't complain really!
Car was faultless and a much more relaxed drive than I'm used to on that route. Even stuck in the traffic in Oxford on the way home I wasn't fazed, just sat back in comfort and crawled along.

I did a 360 mile return run today and the MPG liometer was reading 28.3. Was actually just under 25. Considering I was stuck on the M25 around heathrow for an hour or so and was travelling in a spirited manner up most of the M40 thought it did well Mark.

I may have gone just slightly over 70mph on the one bit of dual carriageway that wasn't either coned off to one lane or packed with cars. Just in the interest of experimentation you must know.

On the motorway we are averaging 30-32 mpg but as soon as we have to come off the A59 it drops to 26 mpg due to the country roads to get home! Love being out in the stick not so much the mpg!

I struggled to get that out of a 2.2D Freeloader with a manual gearbox! As Aguesty1 says, rural roads (especially combined with lots of hills) don't help 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

TBH I couldn't care less about the mpg, just thought that it was a pretty good value. My disco 2 averages 18mpg, best I ever had was 26mpg on a trip to Wales.
You don't buy a 2.5t car to get good mpg!!
Did you get that figure on the way to Chepstow DSL?

I have just done 1420 miles in Germany mostly using CC set at 130kph/85mph and averaged 31mpg but the 240 round trip from Dover to home I got 29mpg so quite happy with my 2015 D4 SE Tech.

Trip to South of Glasgow yesterday, all clear motorway/roads. Set cruise at 62 on speedo (thinking that would equate to 60mph - in reality the bloody speedo is dead accurate on mine i found after i had to fit my Garmin as the LR navigation was sending me 10 miles longer - but i digress).
On the journey up the lieometer showed 35.7 average for 222 miles.
On the return journey, again cruise set at 62, the average for 450 miles was 36.4. (including a trip into Carlisle centre for a bite to eat at an old haunt)
I was mightily impressed even though i realise it is inaccurate but even allowing for 10% error, not bad.
very quiet going North so rarely dipped below cruise speed and rarely went much above either.
Today with 480 miles showing, i have exactly quarter tank showing.
FBH came a smoking after a stop at Southwaite services on restart - outside temp showing 5 degrees. Was pleased to see all that smoke as wasn't sure FBH was operational.
