First 'LIMP MODE' on the D4!
This morning, I got my first "Limp mode" session on the Disco. That was a pretty bad news as I have 6 persons to drive to Paris this afternoon and a "sandy off road session" in Marqenterre on Sunday.
I directly drove to the LR dealer (30 minutes from home - well, 40 minutes in limp mode!) and they told me some parts had to be changed under warranty newt week (something complicated about an air valve that directs air to the rockers ...). They removed the limp mode but told me it would come back.
I have no other choice than driving these people to Paris with the risk of my vehicle getting in limp mode.
1) What is the best and quickest way to get out of limp mode if it happens?
2) Is there any portable device that can help with diagnosis and remove errors codes for the Disco 4 3.0 (2012)?
Thanks.My fifth Disco ...

Had this occur on my D4 after about 3 months old, got to my destination left it for an hour or so, started up again and all was fine. Got home cleared the fault with my FCR hasn't happened again, now 8 months old! I think it was just a blip in the systems something not talking to something else as often is the case with a lot of faults. Get the fault code cleared and hopefully you should be ok

just make sure you exactly know what part is under suspicion so that if you do get stuck (hopefully not) you know what needs to be replaced by someone locally.RLD Sump Guard

I have a Hawkeye but there are loads of other fault code readers that can clear faults, on the market. As has been said above, sometimes there are blips in the software but if you have been to Marquenterre, I know it is VERY sandy. Perhaps a good underbody clean cohld help. Loads of sensors unerneath and about so be careful with the jet wash!

Thanks ! We'll see. Have have not had the fault again and did 500 km in the meantime.
If it goes wrong again, I'll have to rely on the stop and start method as I have no faultmate.
What is an FCR?
Are there devices on market that do "fault mate" function and allow to remap the engine or is it separate devices ?
Thanks.My fifth Disco ...

FCR = Fault Code Reader, and in most cases allows you to reset the fault code registered in the system, but of course does not rectify the actual physical fault, it just reads and resets

All right, i'll have a look. There seems to be many different brand on the market.
Marquenterre went well.
But this morning, just after I put back the road wheels on, my suspension went all wrong ... I have a completely lowered rear and the front is up with a message claiming "extended mode" ... Can't use the car like that ... Sometimes, this becomes very very very tiring ... My fifth Disco ...
