OK, will have been the proud owner of my D3HSE for a week, tomorrow. My fist impressions are overwhelmingly positive! I can't get over how well this car drives. It is quiet, responsive, sturdy and comfortable. I love this car, as does my wife...we fight over who gets to drive! The kids love it as well, although my eldest daughter complained that it didn't bump up and down or sway like the old D2! Being 3 years old she thinks that D2 was more fun as it was like being on a roller coaster....Mum and Dad feel differently of course!
Now to the niggles. I understand that my car was built a month ago, so mid March ish. Upon getting it home I noticed two immediate problems:
1. Seat Memory: Only button 1 and 3 are working. I can not use button 2! I assume it was incorrectly installed at the factory. Will raise with the dealer, but frustrating that something so simple is over looked.
2. Upper Rear tail gate: I am having difficulty closing this upper half of the tail gate. I doesn't seem to latch completly and takes 2-3 times for it to finally close completely. I have to shut it with some force in order for it to latch properly. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Am I applying the correct level of force? Perhaps it will get easier with time? I am inclined to take it back to the dealer.

1. Little things like that are almosat inevitable - but wil be fixed quickly.
2. Yes, whenthe car is closed it takes a lot of force. When a door or window is open, it is much easier.

Wineman,
Wife had that problem but it turned out that as she slammed it shut she was pressing the release. Make sure when you shut it you dont have your fingers near it. We havent had a problem since spotting this.

Cmyers- Good point, although as it happens I ensured that are hands were well away from the release.
M-willems: Yes good advice, have just been out to the car and tried to shut the top tail gate while leaving one of the doors open. Made all the difference. All about the body of air inside the car and a relatively light top tail gate, I suppose. 2017 Disco5 First Edition(On Order)

I think I saw a service bulletin about a difficult to close tailgate on the Land Rover GTR site. I could not look at the detail though, as my subscription has expired.
Goto Landrover.co.uk and look under owner info, the Global Tech Reference site link is there. You can browse service bulletins, but you can't open them unless you pay. I would not pay for this, just talk to your dealer. Mine shuts first time everytime, so yours needs adjusting.

I think it is a balance of getting just enough pressure without "slamming", but I do rather like the "clunk" that the doors give when closed. Rear tailgate though is difficult & I can't work out where to grip it without getting all the road dirt over me!

I've had my D3 for 6 days now and my upper tailgate doesn't always shut first go. I need to reopen it a small way and then forcefully close it pushing the plastic cover where the number plate light is mounted.
My bonnet doesn't easily lock on both catches without really slamming it shut.

Maybe the rear tailgate could have done with some sort of handle on it, because it sure gets dirty and yes it does not always close first time. As for the bonnet, I just drop it because if I don't it does not latch on both locks, dodgy.

Yes tailgate shuts ok almost everytime. I pull it down using the hand hold on the inside, and with a reasonably gentle throw as I let go, it shuts without slamming. My bonnet also needs a good slam, or the left hand catch does not catch properly.
The first I know about it is when the bonnet starts to lift in one corner on the motorway. I had the dealer try to adjust it, but it is only marginally better.

Never had a problem with the rear hatch, but I did also learn you gotta slam the hood pretty good to get the passenger side to latch.
You don't notice its not latched until driving...
The 'hood open' sensor is on the driver's side.
 Whoops, I forgot Im on the wrong side of the pond!!
The BONNET's right side sometimes does not latch and the sensor is on the left side.

When I was in Orlando with the truck, I got a suspension fault that would no go away with a restart. So, I checked the fuses, but all was well.
I got the "Bonnet Open" warning, and I figured that I didn't put the cover of the fuse box back on! I had no idea that it meant the hood! LR3 HSE
