First ever Disco on order!

Finally got round to ordering my first ever Discovery yesterday. Had a nasty accident back in April which resulted in me being paralysed from the waist down. Im getting into wheelchair sports and needed a vehicle big enough to carry my racing chair and handcycle. I also live on a farm and wanted something robust, have the towing capacity and being 4x4. Well, the discovery ticked every box!

One query i do have if anyone can help is about tyres, i believe she will cone on Pirelli Scorpion Zero (correct me if im wrong) what are these tyres like? It will mostly do road miles with the occasional mud track, wet fields etc and what are the like for towing. Im considering fitting AT's once she arrives, but again, not sure what to use seeing as she'll be on 20" rims.

Any info would be great and i can not wait for the phonecall to say that she's arrived!

Cheers

Rhys

Sorry to hear about your accident, but great that you've not let it hold you back Thumbs Up

D4 is a great choice, there's a few people on here with disabilities that use them adapted. but either way, great choice Thumbs Up

As for the tyres, they'll cope fine with most things, just if they get thick clay mud, they may turn to slicks.

But give it a go as they are, you may be pleasantly surprised. Thumbs Up

Welcome to the forum Rhys, glad to hear you have a D4 on order they are fantastic cars and it will swallow all your gear without a problem Thumbs Up As Bodsy says if you are mainly doing road miles try the stock tyres and you may be pleasantly surprised how capable they are, the D4 I got in September came with 20" wheels but I changed them to a 19" set and have AT tyres fitted as I do quite a bit of off-road driving.
 Cheers Ian

Ian did you do the 20 to 19inch wheel/tyre swop yourself? Our Main dealer has said they will swop the 20 wheels for 19 that they have on a courtesy car and fit new Duratracs for the diffrence in price between the Duratracs and whatever the new cars comes with. That sounded like a good deal to me?

Yes I did it myself, I had a spare set of 19" wheels and tyres so kept the 20" set for when it is sold Thumbs Up
