That’s just been lit. A mix of small logs and building timber. With rotten but dry batten in the middle. The “building timber” burns down quickly. It’s only a small bowl though. I’d guess less 3ft diameter.

I’m guessing that my one isn’t much bigger if at all. Definitely less than 3ft.

Only my two pennies worth but I find for my bowl quicker burning woods like birch split open with the split faces catching first will produce the best heat. As mentioned, big whole logs will absorb a lot but not give it off! Not an expert, just been cold an awful lot!

Bit of an update on this. The solution to this is to use well seasoned timber, just has a fab evening with this firepit (August!!!) and it's no doubt that using well seasoned logs is the winner.
