FBH won´t fire up
Today I noticed that the FBH in my D4 does not fire up when pressing the key on the remote. The green light in the remote however is blinking every two seconds as it should to indicate operation of the heater.
When I then unlock and enter the car (the nav and dashboard screens come on, no ignition) the remote works perfectly and the FBH runs. Also when I press the buttons for heat or vent in the remote climate screen menu (not grayed out, ignition off) nothing happens. When I then turn on the ignition the FBH and vent start up. Switching off the ignition again the buttons work normally.
It seems the car needs a little push from one of the systems through unlocking or ignition for the FBH to work as it should.
I have modified the power sockets to be permanent life with the mod from this forum by removing the relay. Could this cause any trouble with the FBH?
Thanks for any ideas
Cheers

tried the remote again this morning and it worked fine. Strange car. I have to give the timer and the buttons on the heater screen another try. I think the car sometimes believes the battery is too low to start the FBH because as it failed to start earlier and I switched the ignition on it gave a brief message to check fuel level and battery. Obviously that's part of the problem. The fuel tank is full and the battery obviously sufficiently charged because it fires up on the second try and also this morning. Very strange indeed.
I'm going to fit a Traxide system soon so maybe that will permanently solve the matter.Life in the slow lane

Had the same issue a while back. I found that I needed to hold the remote button down for a couple of seconds and not just press it quickly once. may help
