2010 Discovery 4 TDV6 Commercial Manual Santorini BlackDiscovery 4
FBH with no nav

Hi chaps,

I have all the parts I need, I think, to remote the FBH in my D4 commercial,

Aerial
Receiver t91r
remote t91

I am sure I have read on here a step by step guide to removing the rear boot panels to fit it but can't seem to find the thread.

Am also looking to get it enabled, using auto logic or possibly at the stealer if they will do it cheap.....which they do sometimes.

Am I correct in thinking that I need to get them to change several settings in the ccf files?
Timed climate to enabled
FBH to fitted park heat
FBH call start to FITTED RADIO

Have seen another on here
Additional heater .....FFPH?

Can anyone clarify wether I am in the right ballpark with any of this. Bow down Bow down Bow down

I was in Derby today as well....

Yes needs enabling, will work remote only, have you checked you have the wiring in place incase it's do to with the Nav wiring?
Dealer can't enable what you want even if they wanted to.
Not sure if auto logic can or not.

That would have been useful Big Cry

Parts only landed on the desk at 4.30 this afternoon, so didn't know about it earlier, I know 1 local indy uses autologic not sure what the others use.

Have a look here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic103489....=FBH+parts

I got my remote enabled at Marshalls in Lincoln this week, albeit mine's a 13MY HSE with timed climate fitted so I think there was only one simple change for them to do...

Right Thumbs Up

Had 10 mins this morning and the receiver and aerial are in and paired with the remote.

Off to find out if any of the local indys can enable it for some cash money, as most seem to have Autologic, (looking at the websites) if one can't then most can't.......

In which case i may be grovelling for some help from a friendly forum member.. Bow down Bow down Bow down

Well after yesterday's shenanigans with an indy who shall remain nameless, I popped it into infield4x4 near ashby (no affiliation) on a minutes notice, and they plugged it in to autologic. They admitted that though they hadn't done it before they would have a go. So together we searched through autologic for the settings, eventually found them, and set them to

Call start - radio fitted
Ptc fitted
Park heat fitted
And there was another setting at the bottom we set to fuel fired park heater.

I think this will probably cover it, unless someone knows different, the fans start up which is a good sign, but will have to wait untill the morning to give the heater a run.

If any of the settings seem wrong he will change them over, as the ptc was a guess.......

So for reference it is possible on autologic👍

It's cold enough in Derby to try it right now.

Won't kick the fbh in until the coolant temp has fallen low enough, had this with the ffrr, thought it was bust but was fine.

Might be ok at about 10-11 pm

It should work right now off the remote as the parameters are different.

Will give it a go..

Edit.....

Seems to work fine, press the remote, have noisy fans for a sec, then they die down and the FBH goes through its priming cycle, and fires up then have nice warm air up over the windscreen. Bit smokey at the start, which i expected as the garage who shall remain nameless ran it through an initialisation cycle or something similar which was very smokey.......

Cleared up though, had similar with the FBH in the FFRR when it was replaced, first few times i used it was like the fog on the tyne had invaded derby......

will get proper first use in the morning..... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Ok, bit of info if anyone has it?

Having got it working with the remote, it doesn't seem to be firing up at the moment when I start the car cold, like I presume it used to.

Could I have disabled this by accident, and or what are the temperature parameters it is supposed to come on in? Bow down

Was about 9deg this morning when I started the car, it seemed to heat up pretty quickly, but I stopped after a couple of mins and it wasn't the fbh doing the heating, it was stone cold. So should it have been on this morning?

In which case I may have put it to the wrong settings. Fbh works fine off fob so it was either not supposed to come on because it wasn't cold enough, or ive broken it?

Normal FBH will kick in at 5 degrees or below

Timed climate will warm at 16 degrees or below ... Above that it will vent
