FBH Remote fitted. A Few questions

Hi All,

I took the FBH out for a strip down and clean. Now back in the car and I also fitted the webasto oval timer connected to a dial up gate opener (thanks stapldm). First thing I tried when it was all wired up was to press the button on the oval timer to fire it up. The FBH fan started but nothing else. after about 30 seconds the unit shuts down.

I have run the FBH test routine using GAP with the engine running and its starting up ok and running with smoke coming out of the FBH exhaust.

What are the parameters that allow the FBH to run off the remote, does it need to be below 6c before it will run or do I have an issue.

The OAT is showing 6 degrees on the dash.

Battery voltage is good as is fuel level in tank.

TIA...

OK, just had a succesful "Burn". 30 mins.

I think it needed priming so lots of smoke to start with but now all OK. One thing I noted, once its started if you disconnect the trigger wire from the oval timer, it continues to run for the 30 min time. Not an issue but I saw on another post that it stops once the wire is disconnected.

OK seems I was too quick to rejoice.

I tried the FB using the remote this morning, and same problem, the fan starts then after a few seconds turns off.

On the 1553 timer it shows the icon for the flame during this time then this turns off. So I am wondering if it's an issue with the timer.

I plugged in the WTT diagnostics and sure enough no faults and the heater fired up when I ran it from the diagnostics software. After this I plugged the timer back in and sure enough its now running again.

So I have one of these great "intermittent" issues that could be either a communication issue between the 1553 timer and FBH or perhaps something else. Not sure where to start really.
