FBH Remote control upgrade
So just called my local JLR dealer to ask if I can upgrade my 2016 D4 Landmark to work with a remote control fob. They sadly had no clue what I was asking and certainly had no will to investigate.
I have the FBH and can program it via the dash, I've read through the forum and think I found out that I need to add, the T91R module, antenna and key fob to make it work.
Part numbers that I have found
LR?????? - T91R - need this one?
LR027493 - remote fob (£108+ VAT)
LR008654 - antenna (£25+VAT)
I have a IID tool to enable the feature.
Can I please check I right in this thinking this is correct please?

You may already have the antenna fitted in the space were the widowmaker jack is stored

My advice, spend you money on a GSM operating unit…
I use FBHEATERS for more than 20 years now… and normal remote fobs have a very limited distance to cover… even given distances like 700m are in open terrain….
So one building in between and they don’t work….
So in office areas, shopping malls they don’t work very good… since a 15 min or longer walking distance in a city centre for example is very quick half a mile or a mile, with buildings in between….
You can understand what i mean…..
For a few quid more, you have real comfort imho…
You can buy them from Webasto or Altox or… alternatives… i use or used both Webasto and now Altox..
Altox gives me a GPS tracker system as add on 😉Best regards

Look on the BAS Remaps site.
Pete Bell does a great set up that you can control with your phone.

Bodsy fits Altox ones IIRC. Plus he comes to you as a mobile guy.
Have him change your gearbox and tranny oils at same time Visitor from fullfatrr.com

I purchased the Altox unit from the European distributor and the adapter cable form the shop on here to hook into the pre-existing telestart wiring in the O/S rear cubby area and it works brilliantly. The install is a breeze with the adapter cable; it just plugs in.
Highly recommend the Altox solution. I have a GiffGaff SIM and it uses very little data in normal operation so a tenner of credit should last a long time (as long as you don't eat it up with the Altox relaying balance text messages from GiffGaff to your phone)
Cheers

So which of the variants that Altox do is the best one to add with the tracker too?
I think there is no cabling in the D3 forum shop at mo? I only have a GS so no timed climate option.

@ jonnyboy
The one on the left….
Altox comes with wiring and the only one you need to make yourself ( to the w-bus pin on the webasto) is written out in the forum wiki…. FBH..
If you want to activate the blowers to (i like that because of the window defrosting inside) you need an extra IPCU unit…
Can be bought from webasto brand, programmed for your D3 on ebaykleinanziegen.de in germany for around 50 quid…. Or from altox called Altox Easy IPCU for 150€
I like them and use them, some don’t bother….
I think you do not need a IPCU on a D4 if it is supplied with parking heater option from factory… but on de D3 you do..Best regards

Hi Harold
Thanks.
It is for a d4 of 2013 vintage but a low spec GS so no timed climate option as no big screen. Looked at the wiki which seems to be for the d3.

Fill in your profile, so we can see what you have… for proper help…
As i don’t know the specific D4 in’s and out’s… i can not advice you regarding needed IPCU or not…
Since this topic is not yours and started with advice regarding remote (options) to start the FBH from a distance and he has the options to timed heating from factory on it is proper to stick to that.
But if you start your own topic, maybe another forum member with D4 knowledge will kick in… if you need extra units or not..Best regards
Harold
