Fbh not working - diagnostic help !
My fbh has never worked on my d3, tried the webasto software & that won't let me do a forced start, any ideas on how to proceed ? Clear instructions on using the software would help, software comes up ( off state)
Thank you[/code]

Thanks for that, it doesn't help, I've made the lead up & downloaded the webasto software, when I run the diagnostic, it comes up as off ! Even sourced another fbh , stripped it & cleaned it last night, fitted it to my d3 this morning & exactly the same as my original, can't get it to run , I'm thinking maybe the fbh fuel pump may have been removed? Mine is a very early d3 , the first of them, red wire present in pin 2.

Does it try to start or does it do nothing?

Ur so welcome , that’s a shame it wasn’t useful
Plse don’t think I’m trying to teach u how to suck eggs, but was u aware of the following
that if Outside air temp is above 6 C , Engine temp more than 75 degrees C or Low fuel warning light on that will stop it coming on
if the fuel pump has been removed wonder if maybe the previous owner has removed the fuse ? , engine bay fusebox , number F28
Once again hope that doesn’t come across as being disrespectful in any way to ur knowledge

Yes I'm fully aware on how it's supposed to operate, recent cold weather could have done with it working, fuse is still present !

I bet regarding the cold weather , also found a wiring diagram for u showing the other fuses etc which hopefully will be helpful as maybe there’s a break in a wire or bad connector , know a low battery can also affect it , main battery with the engine off should be a min of 12.6 Vdc
Mines also a 2005 and normally leave the interior temperature setting to auto as I once made the mistake of leaving it in the off position , lol
Fingers crossed for u

Hi,
its a while since I have used the software but just had a look on my laptop (not connected to car)
only think I can suggest is with the title bar at the top of the page, is it "seeing" your car, Extras can select the com port to use if not
Diagnosis start diag, View to view faults and look at device info, then Faults to clear any faults, Control has an On function but can not remember if that does not work try parkheat.

Hi vizlauk, I don't know what you know, so please don't be insulted!
My old D3 FBH only comes on when I turn on the cabin heating, when the weather is cold. Otherwise it will not start, in any situation, even in cold weather.

It may be locked out, can you clear the faults to reset it?
