Faults on screen
Hi all I have the following faults showing up today out of nowhere. Park brake fault. hdc fault system not available. Transmission fault limited gears available. And the engines not turning over. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Flat battery?
Alternator not charging, hence flat battery?Richard

I Found a loose positive terminal on battery and number 30 10 amp fuse blown hopefully that's the end of it.

Well that didn't last long. I went for a drive up to engine temperature and returned and parked up an hour later it's back the same problem so I changed the fuse again with a 15amp this time and had smoke coming up from the back of the engine bay so pulled the fuse and put in a 10 amp and smoke again.
This is all with the ignition off. Have now disconnected the battery.
Any help would be appreciated.

May be faulty condenser attached to gearbox electrics, that will blow fuse and stop vehicle being started and smokes when shorted. Mine went & was only about £25 to replace.

Would that be the radio capacitor on the side of the gearbox I've just read a lot of post regarding that being the problem also with the smoking from the back of the engine when replacing the fuse.

All back to normal now after removing the capacitor/ radio supresser which was burnt out. Thanks for all your help with this. The forum is a never ending supply of helpfully information I would be skint ( that means having no money for you up north) without it. Many thanks
