Fault Code P07AD-07 (2F)

Whilst out on Friday, I was accelerating to overtake another vehicle and the vehicle seemed to hesitate for a moment and I may have heard a 'clunk'. Vehicle seemed fine after that and drove home ok.

Just popped out this evening to get some fuel and found it difficult to reverse. Needed a lot of revs to back the vehicle up. Then when I pulled off the drive and accelerated down the road, it seemed very slow to pick up.

After I'd filled up, I pulled into a parking space and read the faults codes. At that point a Transmission Fault warning came up on the dashboard. The Following codes were present: -
P07AD-07 (2F) - Transmission friction element F - Stuck on - General failure information - mechanical failure. Shocked
U0402-64 (2F) - Invalid data received from transmission control module - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure.

Cleared the faults and then drove a short distance and checked them again and the faults haven't re-appeared.

Did have the gearbox flushed at the last service back in November. Have done <1000 miles since then. Current mileage is circa 40k

Had a search around but can't find that specific code.

Any ideas Question

Took the vehicle out for a 22 mile run this evening.

No fault codes but the gear box change seems clunky and hesitant to change up.

Also when reversing need to apply quite a lot of revs. Like if a clutch was slipping.

Any advice welcome. TIA Thumbs Up

Who did the flush because it sounds like its about to give up , Was there any reason to do it at such a low mileage. That transmission is pretty bombproof so something is going on.

What oil was used when the flush was carried out?

Flush was done by a reputable independent LR specialist. I trust them and don't believe that the flush has caused this issue.

Probably didn't need doing at such low mileage but my D4 is a keeper so it's a preventative maintenance.

Not sure what oil they used but I imagine it was the right stuff. Going to book it in with them on Monday and get it checked over.

Will report back findings!

Just to close this down...

Turns out I had a transmission fluid leak due to a faulty 'O' ring.

All sorted now and gearbox back to normal.
