Fat key & Slim key

I know that the fat (pre 2012) and slim (post 2012) keys are interchangeable in terms of coding to the car/functionality. Are the emergency key blades interchangeable though? I.e. can I remove the existing blade from my very tatty and worn out fat key and transplant it into a nice new slim key?

I've got an IID tool so coding the key should be no problem (hopefully!).

It might be worth reading this from BBS.

A lot cheaper to just by the case and swap the internals. Thumbs Up

Thanks. Good point that you can swap the internals with a bit of fiddling. Does also confirm though that the blades are different. Although as BBS suggests you could just put the old style blade inside the new style key and use something else to turn it.
