Faster awning....
At the moment we have a Bradcot Active awning. We are very happy with the quality of it but it does take a fair while to get up and running.
Anyone know of any faster systems?

Don't think so for that size, ours is 1050 and it doesn't take long at all to put up, but pegging down is the real pain but we've put ours on a seasonal pitch this summer, so it's been up now for about 8 weeks and we don't plan to take it down till October

What do you use it for?
May sound like a stupid question but we only set up the 'roof' part when in France/Spain as we only need shade, not warmth. So I am looking at mounting a sunscreen like shown here: http://www.outdoorwebshop.nl/omnistore-lui...p-618.html
It doesn't get faster than this and dependent on the type of mounting you can still put up your normal awning when you want to.

Thats exactly what I am thinking of Wiljo. I'm sick and tired of hammering in pegs on hardstandings which is what most sites have these days.
When I get to site, I just want to plug in the mains, fill the water, fill the kettle and relax.

Got a Ventura (Isabella) 1000 awning and it takes 30 minutes to get the frame and canvass up, and another 30 minutes to get the pegs in, carpet down and beer opened, but add upto another 20 minutes when on hardstanding.
We don't take the front and side panels out when packing away, as per this video.
Caravanstore Zip, have it as a full awning, or just a canopy, only used it as a full awning on three occasions in five years, just roll it out, hammer three pegs in, open up a can, enjoy. Doesn't matter if it's raining when you roll it up, we can up sticks and be ready to go in 30 minutes now.

Inflatable Awning
Funnily enough, I've just got an air awning & put it up for the first time last night. We've got a full sized Isabella which is great for a weeks stay, but takes a good hour to put up & take down. We've also got a really small Outdoor Revolution porch awning but that's realistically only good for storing chairs, the Cadac in & covering the door, but goes up in less than 5-mins.
Given it was aboslutely tipping it down last night, with the help of my 10-yr old lad & trying to keep it off the ground as much as possible, it was up & pegged in 20-mins. Probably would have been quicker if he'd not insisted on doing the pump bit & putting the pipe on the deflate side for 5-mins .
I've gone for the Kampa Rally Air 390 & it looks a good size for weekending, room for a table, chairs etc. Couple of piccys (after the rain stopped ):
Overall very impressed with it so far - looks a good weekend (or longer) size, will certainly be able to have a table for the five of us & room for the kids to play in too.
Keep you posted on how this weekend goes.......

I've got a SunnCamp Air280. Similar to the Kampa, not the same overall quality but much much cheaper (1/2 the price).
Does what I need, been up a few times and in howling wind - no issues.

So you have the idea now, just find a place to have it mounted .
I see quite a lot of these on 'vans around here so must not be difficult to find them.

Just be aware that they are not so clever if the wind gets up ( ). We've gone through 2 of them and are now back with awnings hence the SunnCamp Air.

Well without wishing to tempt fate, it's so far so good with the new awning. It rained heavy last night & the awning stood up to it well.
We'll be trying it again next weekend for the bank holiday & we all know what the weather does on one of those

I refer to our full size Isabella awning as the 'marriage wrecker' as it requires the assistance (hindrance) of the wife to help me assemble. Theres normally always an argument during this process. Whereas our Kampa Rally 330 is a doddle to put up on my own and is the one we use for weekend trips.
In fact if we are only going local, I often tow the caravan to the site, set everything up, erect the awning and then return home to collect the family. This system has allowed my marriage to stay intact, and ensures I don't lose my home and pension to an expensive divorce.
We have 2 small tables in the awning, one with the microwave on, and 2 large Lafuma chairs. I even put an airbed in there and use it to sleep in myself (anything to get away from the wife!).
But, for a longer trip the Isabella is perfect, especially with the attached extension awnings which I refer to as the North & South wings! They allow me to sleep in the awning with my boy, have a dining area and room to store the bikes...
