failed recovery!

Just got back from attempting a simple recovery of a crashed car, it happened to be buried in a 3ft deep snow drift and it was resting on the shasy!! after trying to pull it out our self's then again with another car pulling us and us pulling the crashed car, we gave up because we had no luck Big Cry then we got the disco stuck Shocked after about 10 mins and lots of pushing it came out, thank god! Laughing then a friend that had stopped by in his hilux lost his keys, to the work car Rolling Eyes we looked everywhere for them but no luck Big Cry so he rang his work asking for the spare pair, along with lots of verbal abuse they said that we will probly have to come and get them Rolling Eyes so off we go, we got about 2 mins from home and on the main road, i thought it would be clear Bow down but no, it was sheet ice, with snow drifts 4/5ft deep Shocked and the normal 2 track road was down to one track Shocked

Amazing how complicated a "simple" recovery can be. Thumbs Up

Couple of years ago tried to pull someone out of a snow drift, no chance. Also a small car type van. Drew the line at a full snatch recovery as didn't want to pull his front end off. Then remembered dinner was ready and reassessed my priorities, left him there phoning the AA. Whistle

What did you hope to achieve from a recovery? It's not like the car was going to be safely driven anywhere, or even safely towed.

Get the driver to a place of safety and move on Thumbs Up
