Extra ping when starting cold.

Many mornings when car is cold i turn the key to preheat and wait for the system check ping.

Then i start the engine, but the oil pressure light stay on for a couple of seconds. Just long enough to get a second ping when the light extinguishes.

Is this "normal" TDV6 behavior ?

If it's below 5 degrees then yes .. Perfectly normal G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

It also happens when it is not cold in ithe morning (10+). It is not the snowflake ping.

But it never happens when engine is warm.

Mine does this occassionally. It has been hinted by others that it may be a bit low on oil when it does it. it is however far from all the time with mine and it only ever occurs with the first start in the morning. end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Mine does this too, only during the morning start.... Oil level is OK, and it happens only around 1 out of 20 start. LR D3 S Black, Auto TDV6
